Springfield, Mo. – The SBU women's tennis team concluded their season today as they battled hard against the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds in the GLVC Semifinals. The Bearcats fell to the #28 ranked team 2-4, moving 9-14 on the season.
 
The Bearcats put the Greyhounds to the test beginning with winning the doubles point. Paula Ballesteros and Ghada Dirninger defeated their opponents at the #1 spot 6-2. Then Elsa Pascual and Giselle Garcia came clutch by winning at the #3 spot 7-5 putting SBU up 1-0.
 
Singles matches did not go the way of the Bearcats as they dropped the #2, #3, and #4 spots all in just over an hour. But the Bearcat star Paula Ballesteros won at the #1 spot in only two sets. She defeated her opponent 7-5 and 6-4 giving SBU their second point of the match.
 
The Bearcats finished the season strong winning six out of their last nine and defeating McKendree in the GLVC quarterfinals.
