Fayetteville, Ark. – The SBU women's track and field team competed at the John McDonell Invitational at University of Arkansas Friday. It was a big day for the Bearcats as two relay teams hit National qualifying marks.
The day started out with the 4x100-meter relay who broke the SBU school record by 2 one-hundredths of a second with a time of 45.50. That time is also currently 11
th best in Division II. The 4x100 team was comprised of
Stephanique Dean,
Laura Dixon,
Brianna Lord, and
Collinique Farrington.
Farrington, Lord, and Dean added
Madison Hicks as they increased their speed to the 4x400-meter relay. They took 3
rd place in the meet running a time of 3:40.61, which is currently 3
rd best in the Nation. Their time was just one second from breaking a school record.
The team will continue their season Saturday as they compete at Pittsburg State.
