Box Score Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU women's tennis team returned to action Thursday for a non-conference matchup against William Woods University. The Owls are ranked 18
th in the NAIA as the Bearcats fell 2-4 moving to 6-12 on the season.
Paula Ballesteros continued her strong streak as she took on the #9 ranked single in NAIA. Ballesteros won handedly defeating her in two sets 6-1 and 6-4, giving SBU their first point of the match. A little later
Leticia Luiz battled in the #4 spot and won in two sets 7-5 and 6-3 handing SBU their second point of the match, though it was not enough as they fell 2-4.
Southwest Baptist will compete in their final home match of the season on Saturday as they host Drury University. The Bearcats will honor one senior of
Elsa Pascual on this senior day against the Panthers. The match is scheduled to start at 11:00am with senior day ceremony starting at 10:45am at the John Bryant Tennis Center.
