Warrensburg, Mo. – The SBU men's track and field team returned to action as they competed at the UCM Mule Relays Friday.
Sophomore
Gavin Duchscherer highlighted the day for the Bearcats as he dominated competition in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. He took 1
st place in the event with a time of 9:25.35, narrowly missing a National qualifying mark. His time was good for a personal record and 4
th best in school history. His teammate
Nolan Hansen finished not far behind him taking 6
th place with a time of 9:38.94.
Parker Love continued to remain strong in his outdoor competition as the took 3
rd in the 400-meter run at the Mule Relays. His time of 48.57 was one of his best times and good enough for 6
th best in school history. Bearcat teammates Caleb Nail and
Devon McMillin finished side by side in the 800-meter run at 9
th and 10
th having only .01 seconds separate the two.
Southwest Baptist will continue next week as they compete at Emporia State in the Midwest Classic. This will be one last practice for the Bearcats as two weeks later, they will be at the GLVC Championships.
