Belton, Tx. - The SBU beach volleyball team road-tripped to Belton, Texas for a weekend full of competition at Mary Hardin-Baylor University. The Bearcats faced two teams this afternoon in back-to-back matches down south. The Bearcats fell in both games moving to 3-8 on the season.
 
Their first match took place at noon versus Texas Wesleyan. Despite the hard fight and close matches, the Bearcats were unable to come out on top with results of a loss at 2-3. However, two of the pairs were able to grasp a win. Gabby Belcher and Bailey Lasater at the 1's clutched a nail biter of a win in the third set and had scores of 17-21, 21-17, & 15-7. Additionally, Madison Satterly and Reagan Hoerning brought in a win at the 4's spot. They won with an impressive point differential of 21-14 & 21-18.
 
The second and last match of the day took place at two. The Bearcats battle the host Mary Hardin-Baylor. Bearcats were successful in their last matchup versus the Crusaders, however, they were unable to bring last year's momentum into the matches today. Belcher and Lasater were able to grab another win for their pair at the 1's spot with a score of 21-18 in both sets.
 
The Bearcats will set out for a full day of action again tomorrow with games at 8, 10, and 4. They will be facing University of Lynchburg, Hendrix College, and Nicholls University.
