Box Score Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU men's tennis team continued their season Saturday afternoon as they hosted the #6 ranked Washburn Ichabods. The Bearcats fell by a final score of 2-5 moving to 3-7 on the season.
The Bearcats fell in the doubles play handing the Ichabods the first point of the match. Sophomore
Alejandro Beneyto Sanchez gave the Bearcats their first point for the team as he took down the #2 spot. He defeated the #10 player in the Nation winning the first set 7-6 (7-4), then bounced back after a second loss to capture the point in the third set 11-9. Then Freshman
Pedro Pinto finished the match out in the #6 spot winning in the second set 7-6.
Southwest Baptist will return to the court next Wednesday as they travel to Big Rapids, MI to take on the Ferris State Bulldogs. The match is scheduled for 2:00pm at the Ferris State Tennis Complex.
