Belton, Tx. - The Bearcats stepped onto the sandy court Saturday bright and early with a full day of matches ahead. They were faced the University of Lynchburg at 8, Hendrix College at 12, and Nicholls University at 4. The Bearcats fell in all three matches moving to 4-10 on the season.
 
Leading off the day, the Bearcats took on their first opponent, Lynchburg. Gabby Belcher & Bailey Lasater, and Carlee Lill & Janel Pido were able to secure a win in their games. While the other pairs were unable to take an official win, two of the pairs brought the Hornets to three sets where both pairs ultimately lost 10-15.
 
A quick turnaround took place when the Bearcats took on Hendrix College for the second time this season. Katie Pogue and Chandler Lawrence were able to hold the Warriors to a close 3-set match with scores of 19-21, 21-19, & 13-15. The top pair of Belcher and Lasater lost their first and only match of the weekend against Hendrix.
 
Bearcats took on Nicholls University for the last set of games on the day. Belcher & Lasater were able to obtain another win for their pair with scores of 21-9 & 21-15. Additionally, Pogue & Lawrence battled for three sets and came out victorious with scores of 21-18, 25-27, & 15-12. After the impressive wins from the Cats 1's & 2's, the rest of the team was unable to carry the momentum over as the whole team fell 2-3
 
The Bearcats will be returning to campus for a week full of practices to prepare them for more competitions in the coming weeks.
