Box Score Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU women's tennis team had their home opener this afternoon at the John Bryant Tennis Center as they host Missouri State. The Bearcats fell to the Division I Bears by a final score of 0-4, moving to 1-4 on the year.
In the doubles point, the bearcats had to forfeit one match but put up a battle against the Division I team.
Ghada Dirninger and
Elsa Pascual in the #1 spot dominated their opponents winning 6-1. In the #2 spot,
Paula Ballesteros and Ghada Garcia had a lead over their opponents but fell 5-7 losing the doubles point.
Dirninger continued to have a strong game as she defeated her opponent in the first set 7-6 at the #2 spot. The match was abandoned after that as Missouri State clinched the other three points in the match.
Southwest Baptist will return to action tomorrow as they travel to Searcy Arkansas to take on Harding University. The match is scheduled for 2:00pm.
