Housh Takes 3rd in Pole Vault; Forbes Qualifies for Finals in 2 Events

Indianapolis, Ind. – The SBU Men's Track & Field traveled to Indianapolis, IN this weekend as they competed in day 1 of the GLVC Championships. They currently sit in 5th place with 11 points heading into day two of competition.  

To begin the day, Brayden Housh and Andrew Rhoades competed in the heptathlon. They each head into day 2 tomorrow at 8th and 9th place respectively. Rhoades had a top finish in the 60-meter dash finishing in second. 

In the men's pole vault, Brayden Housh had his best career indoor taking 3rd place, with a height of 4.56 meters. Junior Makaylin Forbes competed in the preliminaries of the 400-meter and qualified for the finals on Sunday finishing in 3rd out of the 18 that competed. Later in the day he also qualified for the finals of the men's 200-meter taking 5th place in that competition. The Men's Distance Medley Relay team made up of Troy Davidson, Luther Supancic, Devon McMillin, and Evan Smith capped off the day giving SBU 5 points finishing in 4th place.  

Tomorrow the Bearcats will be back in action as they look to finish the GLVC Championship with some more hardware and a top 5 finish in conference.
