Bolivar, MO. – The SBU Women's Basketball team hosted the Missouri-St. Louis Tritons today for SBU's Alumni Day. The Bearcats would start off slow, down by 12 in the first quarter, however, they would begin to find their rhythm as the game went on. In the end, the Bearcat comeback came up short as they fell 77-70, making them 9-15 (5-13 GLVC) on the season.
The Bearcats were led by senior Kallyn Stumbo who put up 13 points for SBU to go with her 4 assists on the day. Fellow senior Karlee Holland also contributed to the Bearcats as she put up 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals. Junior Tori Hamilton was almost perfect in today's game as she went 4-5 from the field and 2-2 from the charity stripe to finish with 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Junior transfer I'sis Brown would also record a new career high as she went 4-6 from the field for 9 points. Junior Bianca Oliver would lead the Bearcats in rebounds as she had 9 rebounds against the Tritons.
Southwest Baptist will be back on the road next week as they start their weekend in St. Louis as they play the Maryville Saints. Tip-off is set for 5:30 PM on Thursday, February 22nd.
