Box Score Pittsburg, Kan. – The SBU Baseball team was back on the road this weekend for a matchup against Pittsburg State. The Bearcats fell to the Gorillas 1-11 making them 0-5 on the season.
Junior Eli Smock would start on the mound for the Bearcats as he would pitch for three innings recording three strikeouts. Fellow junior Roberto Garcia would come in to relieve Smock as he pitched for two innings recording one strikeout. Sophomore Sam Peterson and junior Jaden Thacker would finish out the last innings for the Bearcats. SBU would get on the scoreboard in the 6th inning as sophomore Raydley Legito hit a fly ball to centerfield allowing senior Sal Jacob to run home.
Southwest Baptist will be back in action tomorrow as they finish their series against the Gorillas. First game is set to start at 12:00 PM with the last game starting at 3:00 PM in Pittsburg, KS
