Box Score 2 Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU softball team had their home opener on a gorgeous afternoon in Southwest Missouri today. They hosted the Patriots from Mission University in a doubleheader and secured their first two wins of the season. Those two wins move the Bearcats to 2-4 on the season.
The Bearcats shut out the Patriots in game one by a score of 7-0 behind stellar pitching of
Emma Kreisel and
Shalie Wooden. In her first game pitching as a Bearcat, Kreisel picked up the win after four impressive innings recording four strikeouts and only one hit allowed. In the game, junior transfer
Audrey Rahlmann recorded two RBI's in the game, most on the team, off of one hit. Freshman
Angelina Micone made her Bolivar debut recording a team high two hits in the game. Southwest Baptist won game two over the Patriots 8-3.
The Bearcats will return to action on Sunday as they travel to Stephens College. They will compete in this doubleheader beginning at 1:00pm in Columbia.
