Pittsburg and Topeka, Kan. – The SBU women's track and field team had their final meet before conference today at two different places. 14 total Bearcats competed across a variety of events at the Gorilla Classic and Ichabod Open.
Senior
Alexis Barber had the best finish of the game taking 4
th place in the mile at the Gorilla Classic. She destroyed her personal best by 8 seconds and hit a National mark with a time of 4:56.05.

Madison Hicks, took 14
th place in the 400-meter run. Fellow Senior
Lainy Williams took 16
th in the 800-meter run, just a few seconds off of her best time this season which currently ranks 11
th in the Nation.
Raquel Valdez also had a strong finish in the women's weight throw placing 14
th with a mark of 14.77
Southwest Baptist will take a week off before they head to conference Championships in two weeks. Currently having the best National rank in the conference they have a real shot of taking their first indoor track and field title in Indianapolis.
