Bolivar, Mo. – On Wednesday, October 23
rd, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) hosted their annual Fields of Faith night across the Nation, including one location here in Bolivar. This event took place at the Bolivar Middle School football field with an estimated 250+ kids in attendance.
This event includes worship, response, and wealth of speakers sharing the Word and their testimonies. Two of the speakers at this event were SBU Bearcat athletes
Ellie Barker and
Jeremiah Horn.
Barker is freshman on the women's cross country and track & field team from Peculiar, Missouri. In just her first year out of high school, God gave her the courage to speak in front of all these young athletes about 2
nd Chronicles 34. The focus on the devotional was the importance of bringing kids back to Christ.
Horn, a sophomore on the SBU football and track team, shared his testimony to the 250+ athletes at the event. He not only participates in sports at SBU but is also an FCA leader, D-group servant leader, member of the SBU Serve Athletic Team, and is an RA in Landen.
"It was a powerful evening, very powerful evening. It was a good night for people to see kids worshiping God." Brad Sterling, FCA area representative, said, "Her (Barker) Faith journey is really good, her testimony is good. She was excited to do that, she wanted to do that and I was impressed with that. I don't know that anybody on this campus doesn't know
Jeremiah Horn, he is just everywhere, out front and everything. Very spiritual and had a very strong testimony."
