BEARCAT HIGHLIGHTS
Â
Women's Cross Country
Just two weeks ago the Bearcats continued to excel at the GLVC Championships as they took 2

Kiersten Potter (11
th),
Olivia Littleton (14
th),
Natalie Gerdes (15
th), and
Lily Hunsucker (19

Natalie Gerdes earned the GLVC freshman of the year award, SBU's first since 2019. The last time the Bearcats won this award was also the last time the team appeared at Nationals. Â
Â
Men's Cross Country
The Bearcat runners look to extend their season Saturday as they compete at the NCAA Regionals. They will look to improve upon their 21
st place finish from a year ago. Those top runners looking to extend their season will be sophomore
Collins Kiplagat and
Jackson Leeds. Each have been near the top of the pack for the Bearcats throughout the season and were the only two to finish in the top-40 at the GLVC Championships.
Â
Football
The Bearcats will close out their 2024 season at Plaster Stadium this Saturday as they host the Hawks on Senior day. They will honor 15 seniors who have dedicated time and effort to the Bearcat program in their college career. These include
David Avelar,
Preston Conti,
JaQuan Dorsey,
Kevin Gilliam,
Mitchell Gorgas,
Jake Landers,
Jordan Kent,

Â
Women's Basketball
The Bearcats kick off their 2024 season this Saturday as they host the #15 ranked Ferris State Bulldogs. This is a team full of experience as they have 10 seniors on the team. Six of those have experience as a Bearcat, with
Tori Hamilton and
Jayde Williams having the most of two years. On top of that, one transfer
Amber Storr is a graduate student from Division I University of Detroit Mercy.
Â
Women's Volleyball
While being statistically 2
nd in the Nation in team total kills, the Bearcats also excel on defense being 13

Janel Pido,
Sydney McNeill,
Julia Becker,
Carlee Lill) this Saturday as they host William Jewell at 3:00pm.
