Bearcats Send Seniors Off With Sweep; Rademaker Records 1,000th Career Kill

Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU women's volleyball team continued their momentous weekend by sweeping the William Jewell Cardinals 3-0. The Bearcats two straight wins moves them to 14-14 (4-7 GLVC) on the season.

Both teams traded point runs in set one as both teams each went on two 4-point plus runs with the Bearcats ending on top 25-22. Set two had the Cardinals in the lead much of the time with a high 12-19 lead. SBU battled back into extra points to win 29-27. During that same set, junior Ella Rademaker hit a milestone recording her 1,000th career kills erupting the crowd. The final set all belong to the Bearcats as they dominated Jewell winning 25-16.

Rademaker had a game high 15 kills averaging 5 kills per set with a .353 hitting percentage. Sophomore Rory Stanley hit for .308 with four kills and zero errors to go along with her three solo blocks and four blocking assists.

SBU women's volleyball got to honor their four seniors in the game, each contributing to the Bearcats win. Sydney McNeill had 11 kills with one serving ace, one blocking assist, and four digs. Julia Becker was second on the team in assists with 18 along with six digs. Carlee Lill had nine kills with a serving ace and eight digs. Janel Pido played in all three sets with six digs and one assist.

Now the Bearcats head to the St. Louis area next weekend to take on Missouri St. Louis and McKendree. With a four-way tie for the 8th place spot to the GLVC tournament between SBU, Drury, Missouri S&T, and McKendree the final two games will be crucial. Two wins for the Bearcats would give them an excellent shot of qualifying for their first ever GLVC tournament.
