Pittsburg, Kan. – The SBU women's track and field team continued their season today at the Wendy's Pittsburg State Invitational. As well, numerous Bearcat throwers competed at Wichita State's Wilson Invitational.
Senior
Lainy Williams returned to peak performance today as she hit a National qualifying mark in the 800-meter run. Her time of 2:12.30 was 4
th at the meet and good for currently 6
th in the Nation. Fellow senior
Alexis Barber had an own personal best in the women's mile with a time of 4:58.38. This time was 2
nd at the meet and just a couple second shy of a National mark. Freshman
Lily Hunsucker had a 6
th place finish in the 3000-meter with a time of 10:32.04. At the Wilson Invitational,
Raquel Valdez took 9
th place with a distance of 14.71 meters.
The team will then travel up North next weekend to Northwest Missouri at the Bearcat Invite beginning Thursday. They will have just one more meet following that before the Conference championships February 23
rd.
