Fayetteville, Ark. – The SBU women's track and field team kicked off the new year with a meet at the Arkansas Invitational. Competing against many Division I athletes, numerous Bearcat ladies hit personal records on the day.
Junior
Lydia Sexton recorded a PR in the weight throw with a distance of 12.22 meters. Fellow junior
Olivia Littleton ran her best race in the 3,000-meter with a time of 10:47.38. Sophomore
Zoe Riggs competed in the mid distance race of 800-meter recording a PR with 2:24.96. Freshman
Laura Dixon and
Kiersten Potter also started the year off strong with PR's in the 60-meter dash and mile respectively. Dixon also had an impressive race in the 300-meter taking 7
th place.
Southwest Baptist will return next Friday as they split up at two different events. Part of the team will go to Warrensburg, Missouri to compete at the UCM invite. The other part will travel to Pittsburg, Kansas to compete at the Rumble in the Jungle.
