Arkadelphia, Ark. - The Southwest Baptist volleyball team wrapped up the Bettye Wallace Invitational this afternoon in swift fashion. They swept both opponents for their 4th and 5th sweep of the season, moving them to 6-3 on the year.
Game 1 SBU vs Keiser University: Win, 3-0
All three sets were close between the Bearcats and Seahawks with two of the sets being decided by three points or less. Senior Loran Pritchett dominated the match with a double-double scoring 14 kills and 11 digs. She also dished out seven assists and two serving aces to go along with a .500 hitting percentage. As a team they combined for 10 serving aces in the game, Janel Pido led with three.
Game 2 SBU vs Lane College: Win, 3-0
The Bearcats had one of the best sets in program history defeating the Dragons in 25-3 in the first set of the match. Freshman Emma Bond is in the record books serving 14 straight points for the Bearcats as they started out the game 15-0. Bond had three aces in that span with four aces across the entire match. Pritchett had another .500 hitting percentage with nine total kills sealing a fantastic day and tournament for her with 47 total kills.
SBU will have a week off before they head to Oklahoma to take on Southern Nazarene. These two teams met last year in Bolivar where the Bearcats pulled out a victory in five sets. The game take place at the Sawyer Center in Bethany, Oklahoma at 5:00 PM.
