Bolivar, Mo. - The SBU volleyball played in another exciting game at home this afternoon against Maryville University. This time the Bearcats fell in the 5th set against the Saints. They move to 8-8 (1-3 GLVC) on the season.
Ella Rademaker continued to dominate as she had a career high 26 kills, the most by a Bearcat since 2010. She had those 26 kills across 53 attacks and only three errors for an impressive .434 hitting percentage. Rademaker is already making her mark in SBU volleyball history nearing 200 kills on the season and 415 in her career just halfway through her sophomore season.
Freshman Chandler Lawrence continued her stellar weekend with nine kills and a .421 hitting percentage. Setters Bailey Lasater and Julia Becker each had a double-double in assists and digs. Lasater led with 34 total assists, Becker shortly followed with 24.
Southwest Baptist will return to action next weekend as they travel to Truman State and Upper Iowa. They will begin against the Bulldogs on Friday, October 6th at 6:00 PM.
