Bolivar, Mo. - The SBU women's soccer team returned home this afternoon to battle the Truman State Bulldogs. The Bearcats shut the Bulldogs out while picking up three points defeating the Bulldogs 1-0. They move to 3-6-1 (1-4 GLVC) on the season.
Junior Julia Johnson recorded her first career goal in the 60th minute giving the Bearcats a 1-0 lead. The goal was assisted by junior Ashlynn Robinson, her second career assist. The Bearcat defense was stellar shutting the Bulldogs out and holding them to only one shot on goal, three total shots. The Bearcat center backs Madison Geren and Kendal Weiskopf played the full 90 minutes and Senior Ashlynn Edison stopped the one shot on goal.
Southwest Baptist will look to extend their winning streak this Sunday as they host the new GLVC member Upper Iowa University. The Bearcats and Peacocks will battle on the SBU soccer field at 12pm.
