Rolla, Mo. – The SBU women's track and field team competed at the Missouri S&T Quadrangular yesterday. The Bearcats took 1
st place in their final meet before the conference championship.
Four Bearcat ladies had a 1
st place to build confidence heading into conference.
Lainy Williams took 1
st place in the 1,500-meter,
Madison Hicks won the 400-meter dash,
Alexis Barber dominated the 800-meter run, and
Reagan Thormure won the 200-meter dash. In the same race, Hicks took 2
nd place just .1 seconds behind Thormure who also took 2
nd in the 100-meter dash. Sophomore Lily Simmons took 2
nd place in the women's high jump.
On Friday night, four Bearcats competed at the University of Arkansas in the John McDonnell Invitational.
Alexis Barber had a personal best at the meet in the 1,500-meter run. Her time of 4:30.51 hit a National qualifying mark which currently ranks 37
th in the Nation.
The team will take a weekend off then compete at the GLVC championships. This year's meet will take place May 4
th-6
th at Missouri S&T.
