Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU baseball team continued their series against University of Indianapolis this afternoon. The Bearcats fell in game one but battled back in game two winning the game 4-3, collecting their 8
th win of the season.
Junior
Sal Jacobo had his first start of the season, and it was a remarkable one going four innings only allowing four hits and three runs.
Khalil V'azquez Torres relieved Jacobo and pitch two nearly flawless innings not allowing a single hit and only allowing 2 walks. He kept the Bearcats trailing only 2-3 heading into the bottom of the 6
th where SBU scored two runs to take the lead.
Sam Peterson came in to record the save helping the Bearcats pick up the win, his first save of the season.
Tremayne Mungin recorded three RBI's while hitting his 10
th home run of the season.
Southwest Baptist will return tomorrow to finalize the series against the Greyhounds. The Bearcats will also recognize there three baseball seniors in
Cole Van Every,
Kyler Charchun, and
Jake Schrock. Senior day ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11:45 AM.
