Azusa, California – The SBU men's track and field team had one athlete compete in the prestigious Bryan Clay Invitational and a few more compete in the UCM Mule Relays today.
Sophomore
Troy Davidson received an invite to the 800-meter run at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California. Davidson competed against 134 other athletes with more than half of them being Division I. He finished in 66
th place with a time of 1:50.81, a new school record. It was also a National qualifying time where he currently ranks 14
th in Division II.
In the UCM Mule Relays, numerous Bearcats had top-10 finishes.
Brayden Housh took 7
th place in the pole vault while
Bo Davis took 6
th in the 400-meter hurdles. The Bearcats were strong in the long-distance events including the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter. Sophomore
Joe Kremp and freshman
Damien Williams finished back-to-back just seconds a part in the 5,000-meter in 6
th and 7
th place respectively;
Colby Sanders finished in 10
th. Sophomore
Trevor Maxville took 2
nd place in the 10,000-meter just a second behind the 1
st place finisher.
Zane Hull finished in 4
th and
Peter Bowling finished in 7
th place.
The Bearcats will compete in one more meet before the GLVC Championships next weekend. They will get a practice run at Missouri S&T, the GLVC Championship site, at the S&T Quadrangular next Saturday, April 22
