Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU baseball team finished a four-game series against Minot State this afternoon at Dodson Field. The Bearcats finished in style defeating the Beavers in the final game with a walk-off home run to win 15-14 (final 8th). That win moves them to 4-14 on the season.

Charles Bradley said, "We battled hard this weekend, hit some balls really hard at some guys. Sometimes those things fall and sometimes they get caught. But we kept playing, and we were able to come out on top here at the end. We need to get a lot better, and it starts this week at practice."
The Bearcats started the game out with a bang scoring seven runs in the first inning. Six different Bearcats earned RBI's in this inning with
Tremayne Mungin recording two with a double to center field. The Beavers scored seven unanswered runs after the first to tie the game up at seven forcing extra innings.
In the top of the 8
th, the Beavers scored seven more runs giving them a seven-run lead only needing three outs to finish the game. Those three outs never came as the Bearcats battle back scoring eight runs in the bottom of the 8
th. Great at bats by the Bearcats led to the bases loaded with 0 outs early then two straight walks brought them within five. A double by
Dominic Tellez and an error by the Beavers scored three more runs. Mungin ended the game with a three-run blast over the left field wall for his second walk off home run of the season. Mungin ended the game with five RBI's off two hits.
SBU will take a weekend off then return to action March 17
th as they kick off conference play against McKendree University. The four game series will begin that Friday at 5:00 PM.
