Rolla, Mo. – The SBU men's track and field team began their outdoor season this weekend as they competed in the Missouri S&T invite. The Bearcats took 9
th place out of 21 teams at the meet.
Sophomore
Troy Davidson had strong start to the outdoor season placing 1
st two events. He started with a 1
st place finish in the 800-meter with a time of 1:54.74, just a few seconds shy of a National Qualifying mark. He also finished in 1
st in the 1500-meter run beating out 76 other competitors. His time of 3:55.85 was just six seconds short of a National mark.
Sophomore
Gage McElhaney added to the Bearcats point total with a 5
th place finish in the javelin. Sophomore
Brayden Housh was the only Bearcat to compete in the two day decathlon event. He finished 4
th overall, with a best finish of 1
st place in the pole vault.
The Bearcats will return home for their annual Bearcat invite at SBU. The meet will take place on Friday March 31
st and Saturday April 1
st at Plaster Stadium.
