Box Score Springfield, Ill. – The SBU women's tennis team began conference place today as they took on the Prairie Stars of Illinois Springfield. The Bearcats handled their opponents with ease winning the match 6-1. They extend their winning streak to three moving to 6-8 (1-0 GLVC) on the season.
 
All three doubles match went the Bearcats way by either a score of 6-4 or 6-3. Paula Ballesteros showed why she is the top ranked single in the GLVC winning her match 7-5 and 6-4 in the #1 spot. Elsa Pascual and Ghada Dirninger had a tough battle in the #2 and #3 spot but pulled out the win in three sets, clinching the win for SBU. Polina Paunova in the #4 spot and Leticia Luiz in the #6 spot also won points for the Bearcats.
 
Southwest Baptist will return to action tomorrow afternoon as they take on Maryville University. They will matchup against the Saints in St. Louis with a scheduled start time of 3:00 PM.
