Springfield, Ill. – The SBU men's tennis team began conference place today as they took on the Prairie Stars of Illinois Springfield. The Bearcats were challenged but able to pull off the victory winning 5-2. They extend their winning streak to four moving to 10-7 (1-0 GLVC) on the season.
 
The Bearcats easily handled the doubles point winning 6-4, 6-1, and 6-3 in the #1, #2, and #3 spot respectively. Makary Adamek showed why he is the 37^th ranked single in the Nation and reigning GLVC player of the week, winning his fourth straight match. This afternoon he won in the #1 spot 4-6, 6-3, and 7-5. Marcio Silva handled his opponent with ease in the #3 spot winning 6-4 and 6-2. Ilyes Khelifi clinched the win for SBU winning in the #5 spot 6-2 and 7-5.
 
Southwest Baptist will return to action tomorrow afternoon as they take on Maryville University. They will matchup against the Saints in St. Louis with a scheduled start time of 3:00 PM.
