Maryville, Mo. – The SBU women's track and field team competed at the Bearcat invite at Northwest Missouri State the last three days. Nearly 20 SBU ladies traveled to Maryville for this meet.
Lainy Williams and
Alexis Barber each had an exceptional meet hitting National provisional mark. Williams improved upon her National mark from last weekend in the 800-meter by more than a second and beat a meet record, taking 2
nd place. Barber hit her first National mark of the season in the 800-meter taking 6
th place in the meet with a time of 2:13.80. Each of those times were personal bests for Williams and Barber
Tessa Valdivia took 5
th place in the 3000-meter with a time of 10:18.81, her season best. In the same race,
Olivia Littleton and
Ellie Kitchin finished only a few spots behind Valdivia in 10
th and 12
th place respectively. On Friday,
Madison Hicks took 9
th in the long jump with a distance of 5.18 meters. On Thursday,
Paige Bradley took 8
th in the pentathlon and was near a personal best.
The Bearcats will compete in the Gorilla Classic next weekend February 10
th and 11
th at Pitt State University.
