Branson, Mo. – The SBU softball team finished up the Branson bash this afternoon as they battled Minot State and fellow GLVC opponent Maryville University. The Bearcats won both games going 2-0 on the day and 3-1 on the weekend. This is the program's first time winning 3 out of 4 games five years. This moves them to 5-9 on the season.

Game 1: Win, 8-4
The Bearcats and Beavers traded the lead in the first two innings, but the Bearcats finished the 2
nd leading 5-4. They built into that lead in the following innings and ended the Beavers scoring winning 8-4. Kaitlynn McConville led the team with three RBIs with two hits. Freshman
Shalie Wooden went perfect from the plate going 3-3. Sophomore
Jenna Daggett recorded the win for her second of the weekend and third of the season.
Game 2: Win, 3-2
It was a pitching battle in game 2 where freshman
Madison Bentley won the battle receiving her first win of the season. She pitched 6.1 innings allowing only four hits and one earned run. Junior
Chloee Sams recorded her 6
th and 7
th RBI of the season getting the Bearcats off to an early 2-0 lead. It was Sophomore
Margo Frossard who had the game winning RBI in the top of the 7th with a double to center field.
Bearcats will return to action next weekend as they play in the MIAA/GLVC crossover. They will start on Saturday March 4
th, as they take on Northwest Missouri and Missouri Southern.
