Springfield, Mo. – The SBU women's tennis team traveled south down highway 13 to battle the Bears of Missouri State this afternoon. It was a tight battle against the Division I team but the Bearcats fell 3-4 moving to 1-3 on the season.
Despite holding the lead in the doubles one spot, the two and three spots fell 1-6 and 3-6, dropping the doubles point. The Bearcats won singles in the 1, 3, and 6 spot.
Paula Ballesteros took down her former teammate
Diana Cabrera in the 1 spot 6-4 and 6-3. The first singles to finish was
Elsa Pascual at the 3 spot, who dominated her opponent 6-0 and 6-1.
The Bearcats will return to action tomorrow afternoon as they play Wayne State at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield. Scheduled start time is 10:00 AM.
