Arkadelphia, Ark. – The SBU softball team traveled to Ouachita Baptist this evening to take on the Tigers in a double header. The Bearcats led at some point in each game but fell in both moving them to 1-5 on the season.
Game 1
Jenna Daggett started on the mound for the Bearcats allowing only one hit through the first three innings. She pitched 4.1 innings and allowed only one earned run. The Bearcats started out the game leading 6-1 through the first five innings. Four of those runs were knocked in by Junior
Chloee Sams who had two homeruns, a solo and three run homer. The Bearcats were unable to hold onto the lead and fell 7-9.
Game 2
Jenna Daggett returned to the mound starting game two pitching two innings and allowing two earned runs. SBU got off to another strong start leading 5-0 after two innings.
Izabella Anderson and
Shalie Wooden each had one RBI while
Meadow Vassar had two RBI's out of those first five. The Bearcats fell in this game 7-10.
Margo Frossard led the team with four hits on the day, going 4-7 (.571).
Chloee Sams tagged along three hits out of the Bearcats 15 total and she led the team in RBI's with four.
Southwest Baptist will return to action tomorrow for another doubleheader, this time against Henderson State. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 PM on the Dee White Field.
