Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU men's basketball team hosted the Ozark Christian College this evening in the Meyer Center. The Bearcats stumped the Ambassadors winning the game 80-39 moving to 3-6 on the season.
The Bearcat defense came up huge holding Ozark Christian to only 39 points, the fewest points allowed since 2018.
Drew McMillin led the team in points with 14, going 5-7 from the field and 3-5 from beyond the arc. After starting out the season 5-23 from three for 21%, he has gone on to make 15 out of his last 30 for a solid 50%.
11 other Bearcats contributed in the scoring column, redshirt sophomore
Noah Franklin led the rest with 12. One of those scorers was redshirt sophomore
Aleksandr Glushkov who made his SBU debut after a year and a half. In just 10 minutes of play, he put up four points (2-2 FG) and pulled down six rebounds.
Southwest Baptist will play in one more game before break and it is one of the biggest ones of the year. They will travel down Hwy 13 to take on their rivals of Drury University. The Bearcats and Panthers will continue their rivalry on Saturday at the O'Reilly Family Event Center with a scheduled tip-off of 3:00pm.
