Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU men's basketball team hosted the Hannibal-LaGrange Trojans in the Meyer Center this afternoon. The Bearcats claimed their first win of the year with an 81-54 victory, moving to 1-4 on the season.
Junior
Drew McMillin led the team in scoring with a career high 23 points. That came off 7-11 from the three point line and 8-16 from the field. His seven three's made up for 64% of the teams' three pointers made in the game. As well, junior
David Hector was all over the court scoring 8 points and snagging a team high 11 rebounds, helping the Bearcats out rebound their opponent 47-18.
Every Bearcat that touched the floor added at least one point to the SBU total.
Ryan Stevenson was second on the team with 12 points going 5-9 from the field. As well starters
Ayden Stone,
Bayley Crawford, and
Jerry Abushanab scored 6, 6, and 4 points respectively. Others that came off the bench to score include
Noah Franklin (6),
Branden Eckles (6),
Graham Chenault (5),
Tyler Franklin (3), and
Brett Smith (2).
The Bearcat men's basketball team will take a short break for Thanksgiving then return to play Monday November 27
th. They will host Central Christian College of the Bible in the Meyer Center with a scheduled tipoff of 7:00pm.
