Box Score Springfield, IL – The SBU Women's Basketball team kicked off conference play tonight as they travelled to Illinois to face the University of Illinois- Springfield Prairie Stars. The Bearcats would fall to the Prairie Stars 76-84 making them 1-3 (0-1 GLVC) on the season.
Senior Karlee Holland led the Bearcats as she set a new career high scoring 21 points against the Prairie Stars going 7-11 from the field with a shooting percentage of 63.6%. Senior Milena Fromming also set a new career high as she had 5 assists in tonight's game. Junior Claudia Vanzant would also help the Bearcats as she put up 16 points, with an impressive 7-8 from the field with a shooting percentage of 87.5%. Senior Kallyn Stumbo continued to perform for the Bearcats as she had 14 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals.
The Bearcats will be back in action as they return home to face the Kansas Christian College Falcons. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 18th at the Meyer Sports Center.
