Lebanon, IL – The SBU Women's Soccer team traveled to Lebanon, IL to face GLVC mascot twin, the McKendree University Bearcats. In a tight, hard-fought game, SBU would fall short as they would lose 1-2 making them 4-10-3 (2-8-2 GLVC) on the season.
SBU would start the game slow as the McKendree Bearcats would outshoot SBU in the first half, two of their shots would hit the back of the net as the SBU Bearcats would go into the half down 0-2. SBU would not go down without a fight as sophomore Tamerra Gantt would get on the end of a cross from senior Madigan May to shorten the McKendree Bearcat lead to one. SBU would continue to put on the pressure but were unable to find the back of the net as the SBU Bearcats would fall 1-2.
Southwest Baptist will be back in action on Sunday for their last conference game of the season against the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Kickoff is set for 2:30 PM in St. Louis, Mo. after the men's game.
