Springfield, Mo. - The SBU Men's Soccer team comes off their bye week as they head down the road to face rivals Drury University in the Highway 13 Cat Fight. The Bearcats would put up a good fight but were unable to come out on top, losing to the Panthers 2-3 making them 2-8-2 (1-7-1 GLVC) on the season. 

The Bearcats would strike first in the 19th minute when junior Santiago Palacio would set up senior Joshua Gerdiman who would tuck away his shot into the top right corner of the Panther's goal. The Panthers would strike back late in the first half as the Bearcats would concede 2 goals making the score 1-2 for the Panthers before the end of the half. In the second half, the Panthers would score early putting them up 3-1 but the Bearcats would not go down without a fight as junior Alex Marealle would score in the 63rd minute for his first career goal for SBU. The Bearcats were now only a goal away as they continued to put on the pressure as the Panthers would go a man down in the 80th minute after a red card. Unfortunately, the time would run out on the Bearcats as they would fall to their rivals 2-3. 

Southwest Baptist will be back in action on Friday, October 20th for Senior Day as they face William Jewel University. Kickoff is set for 1:30 PM on the SBU Soccer Field with Senior Day happening shortly before.
