Bolivar, Mo. - The SBU Football team hosted the Missouri S&T Miners this afternoon. The Bearcats fell to the Miners 45-19 making them 2-5 (1-2 GLVC) on the season.
Junior Logan Turner would scratch his name again into the SBU record books as he would break the SBU Single Season Field Goal record with an impressive 51-yard field goal, making it his 13th field goal of the season. Junior Riley Walker also had several career-highs in his second start for the Bearcats. Walker would have 180 passing yards with a career-high in longest pass with a 46-yard pass. Junior Jordan Kent would be his primary target with 150 yards in the game with his longest reception being 57 yards.
On the defensive side, Sophomore Joshua Koranda would lead the Bearcat defense in tackles with 11, setting a new career high. Freshman Gabe Booker would aid Koranda with his own career-high in tackles with 7 against the Miners.
Southwest Baptist football will look to bounce back next week as they hit the road to face new GLVC member Upper Iowa University. Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM next Saturday, Oct. 21, at Harms-Eischeid Stadium in Fayette, IA.
