Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU Football team had their home opener this evening against #6 ranked University of West Florida. The Bearcats struggled to get their offense going against a strong defensive team and fell 10-49. That loss moves them to 1-1 on the season.

Cooper Callis had his second straight game of 180+ passing yards with a long of 45 yards. Callis scored the Bearcats one touchdown of the game with a one-yard touchdown run. Reigning GLVC Offensive player of the week,
Abel Carter, had his second straight game of over 100 yards. The GLVC Special Teams player of the week
Logan Turner matched his long from last weekend with a 51-yard field goal in today's game.
Coleton Smith, Brendan Smith, and
Jeran Seabolt all tied for a team high six tackles.
The Bearcats will travel to Ohio a week from today to take on University of Findlay. The Game is scheduled for Saturday, September 17
