Bolivar, Mo- The SBU track and field team competed in day 1 of the GLVC Outdoor Championships today. After day one the women's team sits in 5^th place with 20 points and the men's team sits in 7^th place with 12 points.
 
Day 1 Highlights-

• Amanda Berkstresser breaks school record in 3,000-meter steeplechase; takes 2^nd place at GLVC Championship; ranks 17^th in the nation.
• Aubrie Sorrell places 2^nd in women's hammer.
• Parker Love places 3^rd in men's long jump.
• Both Zara Brown and Britney Clark advanced to finals in 100-meter dash as 2^nd and 3^rd seed.
• Collinique Farrington advances to final of 400-meter with the #1 time.
• Elysia Burgos, Lainy Williams, Brocklyn Barber, and Alexis Barber all advance to finals in 800-meter; each place in the top-6.
• Troy Davidson and Will O'Keefe advance to finals in 800-meter; 2^nd and 3^rd place
• Zara Brown, Britney Clark, and Collinique Farrington all place top-4 headed into the finals tomorrow.
• Bladen Hancock is 1^st in the decathlon after placing top-3 in all five events today.
• Paige Bradley is 3^rd in the heptathlon with a 1^st place finish in the 100-meter hurdles.

 
The Bearcats will compete in day 2 tomorrow beginning with the heptathlon and decathlon events at 8 a.m. Final results for today along with tomorrow's heat sheets can be found below.
