Bearcats Hit 5 Homeruns in Game 2, Split Doubleheader with McKendree

The Bearcats fell behind early and were unable to come back in game one, falling 16-2. Five different Bearcats recorded one hit apiece and
Colby Sneed and
Blake Ford each recorded one RBI.

After just the five hits in game one, the bats came alive in game two. Eight Bearcats combined for 18 hits in a 13-6 conference win, the most hits in a game since 2019. Freshmen
Zeke Skinner and
Ayden Fetters had career highs with four hits apiece.
Rhys Cratty followed with three hits,
Colby Sneed and
Brennan Espy had two hits, and
Blake Ford,
Eli Smock, and
Evan Turnquist had a hit of their own. Cratty had a career high five RBIs which included two homeruns. Sneed, Skinner, and Fetters also homered. It was the first time since 2017 that the Bearcats had five homeruns in a game. On the mound, Khalil Torres Vazquez pitched 3.2 innings giving up three earned runs.
Matt Scott replaced Torres Vazquez giving up 2 earned runs in 2.1 innings and
Ryan Carmack had a strong three innings giving up zero earned runs to close out the game.

The Bearcats return to action in their home finale on Tuesday against former MIAA for Pitt State. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
