New Orleans, LA – All-Region honorees for the 2022 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field season were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Five Bearcat individuals were among the 100's to receive All-Region honors. Those individuals earned these awards by being in the top-5 in an event in the Midwest Region. SBU was represented by
Zara Brown,
Britney Clark,
Collinique Farrington,
Bladen Hancock, and
Parker Love.
The Lady Bearcats dominated the 200-meter dash in the region with three placing in the top-5.
Britney Clark, was 5
th with a converted time of 24.69, which she ran at the GLVC Indoor Championships.
Zara Brown placed 4
th in the region with a converted time of 24.52 at the same event as Clark. Placing 2
nd in the region, in that event, was Freshman
Collinique Farrington. She ran a converted time of 24.35, which was a good enough time for her to compete at the Indoor Track and Field Nationals this weekend.
Brown and Clark continue to stride together as they both placed in the top-5 in the 60-meter dash. Clark was 5
th in the region with a time of 7.53, that she ran at the Pittsburg State Invitational. That time was fast enough to qualify her for Nationals this weekend. Brown was 1
st in the region with a time of 7.47 which she ran at the GLVC Championships, also a good enough time for her to compete at Nationals.
Hancock placed 3
rd in the Region to earn himself an All-Region honor in the Heptathlon. He won the GLVC Championships in that event with 4881 total points. He placed 1
st in the high jump, 60-meter dash, and 60-meter hurdles to contribute to his victory. Unfortunately, he was unable to qualify for Nationals despite his strong performance at the Conference Championships.
The final Bearcat to receive an All-Region honor was
Parker Love, who won not one, not two, but three honors for placing top-5 in the region. Love, a Sophomore from Warsaw, Missouri, received honors in the long jump, 60-meter dash, and 200-meter dash. In the long jump, he placed 4
th in the region with a mark of 7.23 meters at the GLVC Championships. In the 60-meter dash, he was 5
th with a time of 6.81 that he ran at the UCM invite. The best out of them all was the 200-meter dash, where Love placed 3
rd in the Region with a time of 21.21 from the Crimson and Gold Invitational. That time also qualified him for the National Championship, where he will compete in this weekend.
