The SBU Softball team took on University of Central Oklahoma Bronchos for the second time this weekend today. The Bearcats held tight with the #13 ranked team in the Nation for 4 innings but couldn't finish it out and lost 3-11, moving to 3-10 on the season.
Junior
Emma Wood started on the mound for the Bearcats and pitched 4.1 strong innings. She had zero earned runs along with two strikeouts and allowing only 3 hits in the outing.
Madison Coone was 1 for 2 on the game hitting a solo homerun in the bottom of the 2
nd to tie the game at 3.
Kaitlyn Bagby and
Margo Frossard had one RBI a piece.
Rylee Lunn had a team high two hits going 2 for 3 on the game.
The Bearcats were scheduled to take on Evangel University in their second game of the day, but the game got delayed after three innings of play. The game was canceled from there and did not meet the required number of innings, four, therefore the game did not count.
SBU Softball will return home next Sunday March 13
th to take begin conference play as they take on the Rockhurst Hawks in a double-header. First game is scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM.
