Box Score Women's Tennis Gets Big 4-2 against Angelo State

The Bearcats fought hard from the beginning to get a big win in Texas against Angelo State. In doubles, Ghada Dirninger and Elsa Pascual concluded their match first and won 6-1. Lola Cincunegui and Giselle Garcia finished closely after falling at the 3 spot, 2-6. Paula Ballesteros and Diana Cabrera dueled with Angelo State at the 1 spot and came out on top 7-6(6) to get the doubles point. 

At singles, the Bearcats garnered wins at the 1, 3, and 4 spots to take home the victory. Cabrera got the first win at the 1 spot 6-3, 6-1. Dirninger followed right after winning 6-3, 6-3 at the 4 spot. The Bearcats win was secured by Ballesteros at the 3 spot. Ballesteros fell behind after the first set, but battled back and won 1-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Coach Almedia had this to say about both the men's and women's wins today: "I am so proud of both teams, they stepped up their game and took the task at hand very seriously. This team is a very tough team, and these wins proves that."

The Bearcats conclude the road trip on Sunday at noon against Cameron University.
