Box Score 2 The Bearcats fell 6-1 in game one of a nonconference match up with the Missouri S&T Miners. Bearcat pitching only gave up 3 earned runs, but the Miners took advantage of 4 errors and got the win.
Brennan Espy pitched 3 innings giving up only one earned run.
Timothy Glenn followed with 3.1 innings giving up 2 earned runs and
Chase Wilson recorded the last two outs giving up 0 runs. The lone RBI for the Bearcats came in the 4
th when
Rhys Cratty singled in
Colby Sneed who was hit by a pitch earlier in the inning.
In game 2, the Bearcats took an early lead in the 2
nd inning.
Brennan Espy doubled to left center and
Jake Whittle followed with a bunt single. Whittle recorded his first stolen base of the season and
Christian Carratala walked.
Colby Sneed followed with a single scoring Espy and Whittle. Two more runs came across the plate in the 3
rd with 2 outs.
Brock Wilken singled,
Joe Wade was hit by a pitch, and
Brennan Espy recorded his 2
nd double of the game scoring Wade and Wilken. Unfortunately the lead was short lived as S&T scored 7 unanswered in the top of the 4
th and 3 more in the 5
th, taking a 10-4 lead. The Bearcats tried to battle back scoring 1 in the 5
th and 3 in the 6
th, but it was not enough as the Miners won 12-8.
The Bearcats are back in action at Missouri S&T on Sunday with first pitch currently scheduled at noon.
