Box Score Arkadelphia, Ark.- The SBU softball team played two games at the McGhee-Hawkins Invitational this evening. Their first game was against Arkansas-Monticello, where they fell by a final score of 3-8. In Game 2, they matched up against the host Henderson St, where they had 5 unanswered runs and won 5-1. This put the Bearcats at 1-1 on the season.

"After the first game we really talked about using what we learned from that first game," said Head Coach
Carly Adkins. "And this group does an excellent job of applying what they learn. So to say they are resilient is true but "constantly growing" is how I talk to them about it."

In game 2,
Emma Wood took the mound for the Bearcats and pitched a full 6 innings allowing 1 run and 6 total hits.
Abby Henson, batting DH, knocked in the go ahead runs in the top of the 6
th inning scoring 2 RBI's. Four other Bearcats had hits in the game, including Kaitlynn McConville,
Kaitlyn Bagby,
Alyssa Reed, and
Lauren Cook.

The Bearcats have two games on Sunday with the first being against Ouachita Baptist at 9:00 AM. They then turn around and take on Oklahoma Baptist with a scheduled start time of 1:00 PM.
