Jalil Beaubrun Posts Career High in Road Win Against the Tritons

St. Louis, Mo- The SBU Men's Basketball team traveled to University of Missouri St. Louis tonight to take on the Tritons. Both teams battled back and forth but the Bearcats went on an 11-0 run with about 5 minutes to go and prevailed with a 70-66 win. That moves SBU to 15-4 (9-3 GLVC) on the season. The Bearcats are currently 4th in the GLVC in PRS standings.
 
"I thought our guys competed for 40 minutes. UMSL plays with so much toughness and togetherness, I thought our guys played really well to geat a quality road win" said Head Coach Clark Sheehy.
 
This was the Bearcats first win against UMSL since joining the GLVC. The win was led by Sophomore Jalil Beaubrun who had a career high 18 points along with 5 rebounds. Tyler Williams was a big spark off the bench tonight with a near double-double scoring 13 points and bringing down 8 boards. Juan Morales came off the bench and was a perfect 4-4 from the field adding on 9 points for the Bearcats.
 
"I thought Jalil played really well in the 2nd half and was proud of Coco and Tyler production off the bench."
 
The Bearcats will head over East to Lebanon, Illinois on Monday to take on the other GLVC Bearcats of McKendree. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
