Kenosha, Wisc. – The SBU women's cross-country team competed in the NCAA Midwest Regional race this afternoon. The lady Bearcats had an impressive 5
th place finish, beating out all GLVC teams.
"Ladies ran lights out today. We had a team goal to be top 5 and they went out and ran their best race of the year to do that. I could not be more proud of all of them." Head Coach
Corey McElhaney said.
The ladies were led by junior
Tessa Valdivia who finished in 22
nd place shortly followed by
Alexis Barber who placed 24
th. Shortly following them was the other Barber, Brocklyn, who finished in 33
rd place. The final two point scorers for the Bearcats were
Lainy Williams who finished in 38
th and
Anna Bandy who finished in 61
st.
After this strong performance by the Bearcats, they will now have to wait for the NCAA Division II cross country selection on Monday, to determine if they will go to Nationals.
