Women's Soccer Honors Two Seniors on Senior Day

Bolivar, Mo. – The women's soccer team wrapped up their 2022 season this afternoon against the University of Illinois-Springfield. The Bearcats fell by a final score of 0-5 to move to 1-10-5 (0-8-4 GLVC) on the season.

"Very proud of the girls and how they fought in every game." Head Coach Sabelo Hlongwane said, "We are such a young team, with only two seniors, the future of this program has a lot of potential. The development and growth of the girls this year has been great to see. Very excited to see who will be our leaders in our Spring season."

SBU also recognized seniors #29 Madeleine Gillman and #17 Lexi Lanzafame for senior day. Both Gillman and Lanzafame have been four year members of the women's soccer program. Upon graduation Gillman plans to work in a hospital ER before going back to school to become a nurse educator. Lanzafame plans to start her Doctorate in physical therapy at SBU.
