Bearcat Men's Soccer Honors Six on Senior Day

Bolivar, Mo. – The men's soccer team wrapped up their 2022 season on Senior day as they took on University of Illinois-Springfield. The Bearcats fell by a final score of 0-5 to finish at 0-14-2 (0-11-1 GLVC) on the season.

"Regardless of what the scoreline meant, the team played hard in honor of their Seniors on Senior night." Head Coach Sabelo Hlongwane said, "They Stayed competitive and finished the season on a positive note as a team."
 
SBU was able to finish the season honoring 6 members of the program on senior day. This includes Willy Lusansu, Jonathon Prudencio, David Sanchez, Jose Mencos, Kevin Zavala, and Pierre Barilly. Lusansu, Mencos, and Barilly are each finishing their second year as a member of the Bearcat program. Prudencio and Sanchez each joined the team during the shortened covid season making this their third year together. Zavala has been a part of this program since 2019 making him the longest tenured senior with the Bearcat program.
